LOGISTICS & TRANSPARENCY
The Aurigin Centre Residency: The residency allocations include a private room, a dedicated studio space, and access to the national park and common areas. It does not include travel logistics, flights, food, or art materials. Dates must be booked directly with Nika Fontaine, subject to availability, in the window between January 1st 2027 and December 31st 2028.
The Blue Hour Podcast: The in-person podcast recording is awarded based on geographic alignment. The exact recording date will remain variable and will be coordinated individually when our travel schedules intersect.

Your artworks alone, before a word of your writing is read.
Every juror records a first response to your images before reading anything else. It's the one score that can't be argued into existence by a well-written application. What survives a first pass is usually work that could not have been made by anyone else.

THE WORK

Your artworks on a closer look, your logline, and how you describe making the project.
We're asking how the vision got into the material: what you chose, why that and not something else, and which part of the making is hardest to get right. We are more interested in the raw truth of the process.

THE VISION
20%
Where the work comes from, and whether it has travelled.
Two halves. Where this project came from, and one thing the vision asked of you that would have been easier to compromise on - and you didn't.

THE ALCHEMY
20%
What you are transmuting through this project, and how long you've been at it.
An artist takes something from their own inner world and changes it through the work. Over years, that process changes them too.

THE MOMENT

What has been in the way, and what these resources offered with this Gift would change.

The Sub-Roza Circle is a community app and private space where artists, occult scholars, and esoteric visionaries actually talk to each other. No algorithm deciding what you see. No diluting the work for a public feed.

03 // TALK WITHOUT CENSORSHIP
Long-form discussions about occulture, sacred technology, and the practical realities of an art career - the kind of conversation that doesn't fit in a comment section.
Monthly talks and workshops from practitioners in the field, plus a Full Moon meeting every month.
$5 USD TO APPLY.
We think patronage should open doors, not guard them so the entry cost stays low on purpose, at every career stage. If $5 is a barrier, write to us and we'll waive it. No explanation needed.
WHAT $5 USD GETS YOU:
Evaluation of your application by the 8-member jury, and 30 days of immediate access to the Sub-Roza Circle ; the community, the gallery, the full moon meetings and that, regardless of whether you end up receiving one of the seven gifts. Note: You do not need to maintain an active membership to remain eligible for the main Vanguard Jury allocations (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). However, eligibility for the Sub-Roza Circle Community Gift requires an active presence in the network.
HOW IT WORKS.
Paying $5 opens your Circle access and takes you straight to the application. Stay on the page while it loads and if your connection drops before you get there, we'll email the link directly, so nothing is lost.
$5 covers your application fee + gives you one month in the Circle. After that it's $9/month if you'd like to stay. Easy to cancel any time with a simple button. Leaving doesn't affect your application either way.

PROJECT: LUZ EN LA SOMBRA
Not a painting to be looked at, but a 'living mirror' designed to be looked through. By utilizing interference pigments, she creates a functional technology that forces the viewer to confront the fluidity of their own perception.
PROJECT: X-POLLINATION
Fae positions the third-gender body as a site of 'ancestral technology' and ecological repair. Their work collapses the distance between personal liberation and land stewardship, re-mything the body not as a subject of consumption, but as a portal for 'indigenous futurity' and radical re-matriation.
